CHALLENGE
Design a mixed-use architectural vision to explore the potential change in land use for a Rite-use parcel, evolving it into a major residential, commercial, and mixed institutional project. Angulari, the company responsible for the idea for the site, commissioned us to envision a comprehensive deliverable that explores the possibility for the landowners to commercialize the land. The design had to communicate the possibilities to attract developers to potentially bid for the land and develop a project. One key requirement was to maintain the existing church and create a "wellness citadel" in the heart of an existing neighborhood.
STRATEGY
Designing in partnership with Masterplan, we came up with several iterations for the project, considering the new regulatory framework for Bogota (POT 555), while maintaining the design requirements. To ensure maximum built potential all iterations where carefully explored using Revit Masses and Schedules. After multiple approaches, the resulting project revolved around the existing church, emerging from a local park design and public space that merged with buildings, providing active fronts throughout the city blocks.
